We catch these guys every time they hit the Beacon and they are a heck of a band with Tex Mex, Latin, Cuban, and Country influences just to name a few. Raul Malo's voice is fantastic as are each of the 7 other band members who each had their time to shine. Great musicianship. Interesting crowd observation is that they sell out, but to a crowd on the older side. I am used to being on the older side at many of the shows I go to, but at this one I fell on the younger side (doesn't matter, but an observation and not sure why this band doesn't attract a younger audience). See them if you can - well worth it!
Love the Mavericks, never had the chance to see them perform live but have several of their CD's. Did catch them on Bluegrass Underground on PBS a few weeks ago, short but good set.
