The Layla Sessions recording article

I have subscribed to the Tone Quest Report for over 10 years now and there is always some interesting article on musicians gear.
I have this in hardcopy but found this issue on line to share.
I thought some here who are into Clapton would find this issue interesting as it also mentions Duane several times

Great read and certainly historic sessions for that album. Lots on that album that sounds just as good as it did then. Timeless.
Derek Trucks reveals something I didn't know awhile back that Clapton plays slide instead of Duane on a track.
I've also seen a picture in black and white from the sessions and Duane had Eric's Strat on and Eric has Duane's Goldtop. Not sure if that was an actual recording happening or if it was the two men just goofing around.
Here is Duane with the SG. Zoom in on the body behind the bridge and notice the holes where a whammy bar used to be. Dickey had that removed while he still played it. Dickey didn't use it long. Mostly summer of 1970 then he wanted a Les Paul and gave the SG to Duane for slide so he wouldn't have to tune his Les Paul.

I laughed reading about them staying in the Winnebago in the parking lot.
A pic I took while visiting south FL. We were in the parking lot next door, a security guard walked in our general direction. I guess they discourage photos.
