So it is a meme about the Grammys, over and event that took place at the MTV Awards showing a picture from the ACM awards.

That's total coverage there.

X2

Stopped watching that show years ago. However I think I hear the Eagles will do a tribute to Glenn Frey, and that might be worth watching.

Gary Clark Jr is doing a B.B. King tribute as well.

Well, if you insist on missing it, go ahead. To me, the Grammies are exactly what DVR is for. I can fast forward slow enough to go through what I don't want see, then watch what I want to see. It was only a couple of years ago that Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Merle Haggard and Blake Shelton did a three song medley that just about blew the walls off of the place. And that same night, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr played together. Really now.............you think you're not missing ANYTHING? Fine..................miss it!! SOMETHING will be special tomorrow, and likely more than just one performance.

I agree. I've got my DVR set too. And I'll be looking forward to the Eagles and Gary Clark Jr. Smile

Jackson Browne was a pretty cool choice, but The Eagles looked like they didn't wanted to be there.

It seemed Jackson effed up the lyrics to take it easy, I was watching for henley's head to explode 😮

It looked that way to me too! I felt bad for him. I guess even the best f up sometimes.

Nice version of the Thrill Is Gone, there were some cool moments with the Eagles and Lady Gaga doing her thing with the Bowie songs.

Others have already commented, but if didn't watch it............YEAH, you missed some things. Lady Gaga's Bowie tribute was outstanding, a fairly long medley of some of his greatest songs. I was not even expecting that, a very nice surprise. That outshone either the Glen Frey or B.B. King tributes.

And The Hollywood Vampires featuring Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Johnny Depp along with the Guns 'N' Roses rhythm section, really ROCKED! I just loved their two tunes. Depp sounds like he knows his way around a six string.

I wouldn't say The Eagles were BAD, but yeah, a bit uninspired. And the B.B. tribute featured both Chris Stapleton and Gary Clark, Jr. It was good, but I just wish they would have picked a different song. The Thrill Is Gone is what 90% of anyone who covers B.B. is going to do, and to me it's kinda like One Way Out, I've just heard it too many times.

Gaga was definitely a highlight for me. And I loved Bonnie Rait sing and play some very nice slide guitar on the BB Tribute.

I DVR's it and tried to give each segment a try, but fast forwarded through most of the show, but will comment on what I did watch.

The Alabama Shakes performance was good, but "Don't Wanna Fight No More" has been overplayed at this point. I was a little disappointed in their new album because I thought it went away from what their real strength is, which is Brittany Howard's voice. The new album seems far more produced than their first one. However, live she always seems to nail it.

I thought Clark, Stapleton & Raitt's BB King tribute was really good. You knew it would be "The Thrill Is Gone" that was played.

The Glenn Frey tribute was nice, but it wasn't Jackson Browne's best performance.

I thought the Bowie tribute was visually interesting, but musically there wasn't much to it. They tried to jam too many songs into a short period of time. Lady Gaga's singing was fine, and I'm sure the visual was an appropriate tribute for David Bowie but I felt it distracted from the music as did the short time spent on each song. It would have worked a lot better by just having 3 or 4 songs in the medley.

I thought the Hollywood Vampires were more noise than song. It wasn't bad, and I'm glad they did "Ace Of Spades" as a tribute to Lemmy but it was once again more focused on the visual and not the musical. They should have just let Duff sing by himself on "Ace Of Spades" as it seemed like Alice might not have known all the lyrics. I felt bad for the other guitarist that they had up there who wasn't named as he looked to be doing some of the heavy work.

As for the finale, Joe Perry has no room to talk about Steven Tyler's move to country music when he is out there playing with Pitbull.

I can listen to Chris Stapleton sing just about anything, so that was cool. That guy's voice....HOLY SH*T.

I'm not the biggest Bowie fan, but I definitely respect his legend and the magnitude of everything he's influenced. Thought Lady Gaga did a great job and his tribute was very fitting.

I thought Jackson Browne did a really good job considering it looked like he was about to start crying throughout the entire performance. He and Frey were buddies, that couldn't have been an easy performance (no pun intended). I spent that whole performance hoping that one of the sticks would fly off the hi-hat and clock Don Henley in the face, alas....it didn't happen 🙁

The Hollywood Vampires thing was lame. You know who would have HATED a tribute to Lemmy at the Grammys?........................Lemmy.
