The art of listening

Just check out how Warren Haynes builds his solo off what Oteil is playing. It's pure magic. Warren's solo flows from Oteil.

Thanks for posting, this reminds me one time seeing Trucks Tedeschi, Derek was standing right in front of one of his horn players, whom was in the middle of a horn solo and Derek, listening intently, simply "took" to solo from him, note for note it seemed, then went off on his own.
Edit: by the way, the part in Whipping Post, right after the first guitar solo, when Gregg comes back in : "My friends tell me..." - absolutely kills me every single time.

I noticed the very same thing. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. When I watched this I couldn't help wondering why they would want to end this now that they have reached this amazing level of artistic chemistry. But they sure as hell did, didn't they? I sure do miss 'em.
