My Favorite Things - Again not a stretch bet never expected to see it.

I know they would tease it occasionally in Desdemona but did they ever actually flesh out the whole song?

If you are thinking of Coltrane covers, Afro Blue certainly qualifies.

They did play My Favorite Things on 3/9/2012. A partial video of it (shaky quality) exists here:

Comments to that video include a number of contributions from a familiar source Grin

Grin what a treat Grin
I too had thought they’d only teased it here & there
The gems that pop up here on the boards, tops
Of course it’s on the vacation tape too where it’s a cool extended loose jam

Also this recollection by Twiggs in the Nolan bio (RIP Skoots Lyndon)

Nolan bio: “Twiggs remembers a junior college date in Decatur, Alabama at a school w/an enrollment of 500. The student body had overwhelmingly voted the Lettermen as the group it wanted to appear, but the 2 hippies on the entertainment committee stuffed the ballot box to make the ABB the winners

Twiggs quote: “The kids were really receptive, although I don’t think they understood the music. The band saved Whipping Post for an encore, not expecting to get one. But they did, and got a standing ovation....they came back out & did Mtn Jam”

Finally they were called back for a 3rd encore, & as Twiggs remembered it, “they played My Favorite Things by John Coltrane. Duane said, ‘this’ll cool em off’. And it did”

Thanks for the link slothrop8!
