The Allman Brothers Band - 1971 'Fairytale Album'

Thanks so much for posting a link to this soundboard! The brothers always sound better with the in yo face bass, which ... was never the same after the untimely departure of BO

Yes you are correct. Actually the Allman Brothers was never the same after Duane died.
As much as I love and respect Chuck, Lamar, Dan Toler, Warren, Allen, Otiel and Derek and later lineups....NONE equaled the original lineup. Not only bass but guitars too. The interplay between Duane, Dickey and Berry was simply the best! Listen to One Way Out and Trouble No More on Eat A Peach and Statesboro Blues, Done Someone Wrong, You Don't Love Me, Elizabeth Reed etc on Live At Fillmore East and tell me if any other line up of the Allman Brothers Band equaled the original lineup. The original lineup was the high water mark of the band period!

Thanks for posting this.
7.17.71 Atlanta GA was also remastered by Captain Skipper.

Agreed. I will always be a fan and always appreciate the legacy, but the "band" stopped speaking to me after "Brothers and Sisters". "Win, Lose or Draw" was awful.
