How come he’s not really talked about much when folks discuss best guitarists?

I’m listening to that first Chicago Transit Authority album, and he’s just incredible.

He was as good as anybody! Had not for his demise, I would have liked to hear him in a 4 or 5 piece blues format.

I saw them once with Terry. 25 or 6 to 4 was the one where Terry really cut loose on a long solo I think. The bass player, Peter Cetera I think was his name, became increasingly demanding and wanted to be the front man and do most of the singing and the friction from that resulted in him quitting the band and going solo. I think Peter had a decent solo career for a few years.

Back before Eddie Van Halen hit the guitar scene, Carlos Santana was the player many readers of the guitar mags usually voted the best and most technically advanced. When I saw Santana the first time, he played a Yamaha electric. Not many guitarists played a Yamaha.

AXS tv just had a documentary on him recently it kinda revolved around his daughter searching and looking for the details that she missed. The relationship seems quite similar to a Duane/ Galadrielle situation, it was well worth watching, their first album will always be my favorite of theirs.

Amazing player... Just a talent beyond words... To be honest probably better than a lot of the ABB guitar players.

Please humor us with the specifics.

Huh??? Maybe you should give your opinion on the guitar player instead cutting down someone else's opinion.

No Mr. Fender31 maybe you should just give us your opinion that's all, I'm not "cutting your opinion down" just back up your claims.

The Kath film is really good!

It's too bad so many artists get caught up
in 'lifestyle challenges'

A very good DVD - like how it starts w/the guy using salty language in emphatically & conclusively saying Terry’s death was An Accident - albeit a needless & almost unforgivable one, in a way

The guy was a master of his instrument - more than understandable indeed that Chicago fans would call him their favorite & one-of if-not the best player(s) ever - just as most here see Duane & Dickey as that, also Derek & Warren

Only caught up w/the CTA album in later years - Joe Walsh is great on the DVD talking about his reverence for Terry
