Tedeschi Trucks Band's rising popularity in the Netherlands

Last Thursday European tour dates have been announced for march / april 2017. I was very surprised at the venue they were booked in the Netherlands: The Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam. Back in 2005 Derek Trucks played his first (European) dates for 3 concerts / projects called "Steelin' & Slidin'". I dont't know how many people attended the Paradiso, Amsterdam show but it were only a mere 100 - 150 music fans. Never saw this famous music temple so empty. In the past 10 years The Derek Trucks Band and The Susan Tedeschi Band played a few tours in our region but many were festival gigs. I guess concerts would have drawn < 1000 up untill 2015. While there's a stagnation in attendance for Gov't Mule shows (maybe even a small decrease) and Warren Haynes & The Ashes & Dust Band only draws a few hundred concert goers the TTB's concert draw is really on the rise.
In november 2015 they played for a full capacity crowd in Utrecht's Tivoli/Vredenburg venue (cap. approx. 1700). Last summer they were one of the most popular acts at the new Holland International Blues Festival and played for a full capacity of 10.000 and were very successfull. But that's a festival show. But now for the 31 march 2017 gig in Amsterdam they are booked at the Heineken Music Hall for ticket prices twice as high as in 2014 and 2015. This will be a seated show. Usually the main floor is general admission / standing and for these seated shows the capacity is 3800! I scored tickets for the 7th row near centre. Tickets in these front sections are going fast. So my first reaction was: WOW! The TTB are going places in The Netherlands (without any major radio airplay)!! Good for them!

Thrilled for TTB and for you being able to see them in your area, but I'm not quite following how having to pay twice as much when there are 50-60% less tickets available is a strong indicator that TTB is gaining popularity.

Those ticket prices are indeed much more espensive than 2 years ago. I do not think they are an indicator that their popularity is increasing. I think i didn´t imply that in my post. I think it has to do with another promoter who decided to "market" them differently. Booking them for seated shows in bigger and sometimes more posh venues in Europe. I didn't state there were 50-60% less tickets available but just the opposite to make my point. In 2 years time they have moved from a 1700 seat venue to a 3800 seat venue. 2 years ago i thought it was a big gamble to book them there but was pleasantly surprised that the show was sold out. Looking forward to the concert at the Heineken Music Hall because this larger venue is renowned for it's excellent accoustics.
