Tedeschi Trucks Band - Macon - This Friday!

These guys keep gettin' better and better ... and they're already FANTASMIC! Driving up to Macon to catch the TTB this Friday! Brother TanDan can't make the show but vows to meet at the H&H Saturday morning for breakfast. Who amongst ye can pass this up?
Anybody else?

My wife and I will be there. It will be our first time seeing TTB or seeing Susan live for that matter.
Looking forward to a great show, can't believe it hasn't sold out.

Hittin the road here in a bit for a leisurely drive up and over to Macon. Can't wait for the show and for the op' to see some old friends!

Fantastic show! The encore alone was worth the price of admission:
Keep on Growing;
Liz Reed
With special guest Jimmy Herring!
The whole band smoked all night! Duane Trucks also played drums on Liz Reed! Amazingly fantabulous!

That sounds amazing! Glad you enjoyed.

Wow.
A real family affair. I talked to Derek and Duane's Dad at the Saturday DC show. He said that Duane is full time with Widespread Panic now and that Jimmy is Duane's Father-in-Law.
Can you imagine the family reunions?

Was a great show, our first time seeing TTB live and just WOW.
Derek and Susan both took turns playing Duane's Goldtop.
Just a great musical experience.
(but why won't folks shut up during the show? jeez if you want to talk and look at your phone go to the parking lot)

FYI: Anybody still in the Macon area who were interested in the breakfast with TanDan - that function has now been changed to an early lunch at 11-ish at the H&H. Dan' woke up with a very slight hitch in his get along this morning, but will be present for lunch! Hope to see a bunch of y'all!

Home n my comfy chair - a more descriptive review:
* Opening act, Family Spirit Reunion - best described as one of the new "Americana" bands (Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons et al). From New York - tight, fast-paced and early Dylan-esque. They played well and the crowd seemed to enjoy their brief set. I'd certainly check them out again if given the opportunity.
* Tedeschi-Trucks Band just keeps building steam! I saw them last only 32 days ago and they've improved since then. As stated in another thread, every member contributes something. I'd say that they scored on every tune. The now anticipated, "Midnight in Harlem" was certainly among the high points. Within that song, Kebbi Williams turned in an amazing saxophone solo on the outro. I believe this might be a recent twist. If not, it was certainly still a treat.
* No "Susan Haters" in this crowd. In addition to playing some really fine guitar and delivering great vocals all night, Susan was seen flexing her roadie skills during the encore numbers. Jimmy Herring was brought on for the encore numbers, Keep On Growing and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. Jimmy's amp started to denigrate during his first attempts at soloing. Susan was pulling cables and moving gear with the crew trying to iron out the problems. She eventually selfishly ceded her amp to Jimmy and allowed him and Derek to play out the encore set. Say whatever you want, but in my estimation she's a fine musician and a team player.
Great to see some old friends including Greg and Laraine Potter, Syd and Pat Atkinson and so many others. I spoke on the phone but failed to connect up with Patrick and BigDave. Lunch with Mr and Mrs TanDan and the mighty Bluedad at the "H" before heading home today. I hope we get the chance to do this again real soon!

Pfff.... 😉
Glad you had fun. Thought you probably would.

Sounds like one for the ages. It is great to see Macon getting some love.
Too bad about the folks who won't STFU. I'm at the point where, after awhile, I just tell them. Maybe I'll start narcing to the ushers.

So I think this is the correct order of videos for Liz Reed. Great version
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four

Thanks for posting those vid's!
Ron Currens ... there's a name I haven't heard in a while!

Thank you! Those two ALWAYS kill it on Liz Reed! Are there any videos of Derek or Susan playing Duane's Goldtop?

She's got no right playing that guitar. The only reason she was allowed was 'cause she knows that Derek Trucks guy...
Blasphemy I tell ya'!
😛
Sounds like the show was a blast. Thanks for posting.

Here is that Derek guy giving it a go
