Ted Nugent Announces Summer 2018 Tour

http://ultimateclassicrock.com/ted-nugent-2018-tour/
Ted Nugent has added more dates to his The Music Made Me Do It 2018 summer tour.
He had already announced a series of California shows to take place from June 27 to July 2, and now his schedule runs to Aug. 5. More dates will probably be added later. Nugent’s home-state show in Clarkston, Mich., takes place on July 20 and features special guests Blue Oyster Cult and Grand Funk Railroad’s Mark Farner.
You can see the list of concert dates below.
Last year, Nugent said that, even though he’d happily accept induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he was convinced it would never be offered to him because the organization’s “boss hogg,” Jan Wenner, was opposed to his pro-guns stance. “And until they get their heads out of their ass, I'm more than happy to do what I do and do it with all the vim and vigor that I do it every night,” he said.
Even though Nugent said in 2017 that he’d no longer indulge in the kind of “hateful rhetoric” he’s become infamous for, he recently launched a scathing attack on the survivors of the Feb. 14 school shooting in Parkland, Fla. “The lies from these poor, mushy-brained children who have been fed lies and parrot the lies," he said. "They are actually committing spiritual suicide, because everything they recommend will cause more death and mayhem, guaranteed."
Tickets and further information regarding the tour are available at Nugent's website.

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Thanks for bypassing the Bay area, Ted. Maybe your management figured out that the Bay area is a highly educated and musically discriminating demographic which means that you might be able to sell three tickets here.

Not a fan at all these days. He needs to apologize for his continued gratuitous attacks on the students of the Parkland High School. Morally reprehensible. He has doubled down on calling
these young people 'brainwashed', 'lost causes' and 'part of the problem' ... and he supports
Laura Ingraham's vitriol. Sad day in America....

It's too bad his shows are over-priced and his sophomoric behavior overshadows his guitar skills.

I might do Penn's Peak.
I think for myself.
I don't blindly follow the herd of sheep.

Now that is rich... I'm not gonna post on this again....but I will say if you support this kind of behavior, of putting down kids whose classmates were murdered and they are working to prevent it from happening again, then you are a sheep

I see a political party using victims of a tragedy to promote their political agenda.

I don’t know if you have kids or grandkids, but I have family members who has kids and they are afraid to go to school. To dismiss this movement as just the work of a political party is completely naive.
Regarding Nugent, I love the first two albums and still listen to them. I was tempted to see him a couple of years ago when Derek St. Holmes worked with Ted. But I would not forgive myself for spending money on Nugent now due to his ill conceived, and juvenile statements which he needs to put forth. He is like Trump. He has a compulsive need to spew crap. So no, he will not get a dime from me.

Can you blame our children for being afraid when the Broward Sheriff refuses to enter the school while students are literally being murdered inside?
Maybe we can dig a little deeper into the Broward County Sheriff's Department to see what they are all about and why they support a certain political party's agenda.

I saw the Amboy Dukes and probably last time I see Uncle Ted. I don't care he is not a liberal. I can't stand him because he is a hypocrite. Draft dodger who weaseled out of Nam, while others went. Has told various versions of how he was rejected. Go back to his early interviews (High Times for example) to read more truthfully. His is an arrogant pompous AZZ. His recent put down of kids who witnessed friends gunned down is beyond pathetic. Loser with medium chops on guitar. One catchy hit. Sorry, you posted a controversial figure, so there ya go.

Unlike a certain member of the band this site is dedicated to?
No one is perfect; we all make mistakes. Like the music...go, if not ...stay home. I for one simply cannot boycott everything/everyone I disagree with politically, or I would be stuck walking around naked listening to some crappy bro-country.

We all certainly do make mistakes. My issue with Ted is his blatant hypocrisy regarding American militarism abroad. You know, given he literally shit his pants (or so he says) to avoid the draft for Vietnam.
He's all tough, bluster, and warrior...Except when he could have actually went to war and been the bad ass he likes to portray himself as. After all, being shot at by and shooting a fellow human being is far more difficult than killing all the farm raised deer, hogs, etc. he's killed in his lifetime.

I understand the point you are trying to make. But what I've been reading on this thread is about how Uncle Ted badmouthed the kids themselves, so regardless of if you feel this way or not, it's more about how he did it than what he believes.
Myself, I'm rather torn because part of me says that we should be able to separate someone's output and talent from their self and part of me says that you should stick to your beliefs and if someone goes against what you believe, you should boycott them. But where do I draw the line? Was James Brown abusive to women so I should't listen to him anymore? Louie CK cracks me up, and he apologized, so do I forgive him? Kevin Spacey is one of the best actors, but he's a predator?
Since most of my leanings coincide with the majority of rock stars, I don't have much issue with their political slant, and the ones that I disagree with politically--Ted, Kid Rock and Charlie Daniels...well, I can do without them, anyway. It's quite confusing and I don't have, nor do I seem able to find, the correct answer.

Nice to see these responses to this thread. He's been a tool for a long time. Shame he has an audience for his vitriol. Must be nice to make a living for over 40yrs on the strength of about 10 good songs.

Well said amyjared.
I would much rather have a political discourse than name calling to promote the agenda.

so he says? it was a joke . he got a student deferment that can be viewed online. that's the story . why a joke he made all those years ago is still out there I don't know. many other musicians of that era tell similar tales. bruce springsteen was going to make sure he didn't serve either.

Perhaps other musicians do tell similar tales/jokes....I suspect, however, that those same musicians aren't now such hypocrites when it comes to fighting overseas wars. Ted's a real tough guy when it isn't his ass on the wire is all i'm saying.

Nugent was interviewed by Alex Jones yesterday. Jones is a venal racist piece of trash so you get a sense of the beliefs that Nugent has. Hey, I defend his right to say whatever he wants and I would defend his right to perform without being banned for his mysoginist, and extreme views. But I will never spend a dime on anything he is associated with. Such a shame because his first two albums are great guitar albums and I am a big fan of them.

My most recent and unforgettable Nugent experience was two years ago, visiting a close guitar friend I used to play music with, he was a branch of the Fugs/Holy Modal tree, drummer and bass were from Quill... - we were hanging out in his cabin, he was an active well known and highly regarded Northwest rock musician, but dirt poor. They stored their big PA system at his place, and he used it for a stereo. Way overkill, couch two feet away from cabs in a 15x10 space.
He went to make me a ham sandwich, while I was waiting he spun the vinyl of Stranglehold in my face full tilt thru dual 15s. It was extremely loud, and I enjoyed it thoroughly even though I was paralyzed...kind of like being on one of those centrifugal spinner rides at an amusement park where if you barf it crawls up your nose and into your eyes.
A week later he was dead. So Stranglehold became inextricably entwined with my memory of his passing. Very strange.

I’ve always liked Ted and seen him several times but jeez I wish he would stick to guitar. I can’t see how mocking anybody who has been thru a tragic event helps anything.

"I don’t know if you have kids or grandkids, but I have family members who has kids and they are afraid to go to school."
I do have 3 school aged kids and the first thing that I spoke to them about were the facts on why they should not be afraid. In fact, their chances of being shot at school (or really anywhere) are incredibly slim (just like stranger abduction). They have a much lower chance of being shot at school than they would have 25 years ago.
Riding their bikes on city streets or driving as a passenger in a car with an adult bring much much higher risk of death. One of my issues is that we are convincing kids there is some heightened risk that they should be afraid of at school, when the opposite is true.
That said, the shootings are awful, I think we should take steps to prevent them and Ted is a jerk.

”Don’t ask why. Just know that evil, dishonesty, and scam artists have always been around and that right now they’re liberal, they’re Democrat, they’re RINOs, they’re Hollywood, they’re fake news, they’re media, they’re academia, and they’re half of our government, at least. So come to that realization. There are rabid coyotes running around. You don’t wait till you see one to go get your gun. Keep your gun handy, and every time you see one, you shoot one.”- Ted Nugent to Alex Jones, a few days ago.
At least he doesn’t follow any kind of agenda or anything...

Ted keeps this forum free from Hating On Dickey threads. 😛
People sure love talking about a guy that they hate.
You do realize that is exactly the reaction that he is hoping for. Plays the media like a puppeteer.

Except this has cost him a great deal of money. You rarely see him on a tour with another band as I suspect that bands are loath to be associated with him. The venues he plays ranges from small clubs to theaters with the exception of his hometown of Detroit where he can sell out a shed with other bands.

Ted Nugent is human filth.

Cost him money? Ted's ability to manipulate the media has kept him around for the last 40 years. Sustained an impressively long career and even as the venues decrease in size Ted brings in better bucks that way than opening for others.
Plus Ted has made more off his hunting equipment than music anyway but his music career has earned him plenty. Ted is loaded. That is actually a big part of why he can speak his mind.
Hate him or love him but Ted is a Media King. Without a doubt he has more threads on this Forum outside of the ABB family. Always gives me a laugh as Ted would love it.
I don't agree with much that he has to say but I'm not sure he does either sometimes. But I have meet him a few times and spent some time and he was a pretty good guy. Actually has conversations which is more than many other "artists" that I met. Friendly but it wasn't like we were having some confrontational debate on issues.
After 50+ years in the music business and he is still touring theaters and some bigger outside summer shows, releasing material and having fun. Most musicians can only dream of that.
I have just never figured out why anyone gives a sh*t what Ted says? Then the old Ted shit himself for a month stories pop up. Which is comical. Anyone who has been around lots of sh*t or worked around sh*t knows - it doesn't take more than a few hours to stink so no need for prolonging the pooping.
Somewhere yesterday a bunch of aging rockers said stuff - no one cared or listened. If you don't talk about him then Ted would be one of them. 😉
