Lowell defintely had soul. For me it has always been The Brothers and Little Feat as my personal faves.

Waiting for Columbus and the bootleg from Ultrasonic Recording studios 1974 (on the archive) are among the favorite recordings in my collection

As with the Brothers, I like to give Feat credit for finding some magic as a band without their founder/leader, too. They've recorded some great music since reuniting in 1988 and Paul Barrere really stepped up vocally and on slide and as front man for 20+ years. Live From Neon Park, Ain't Had Enough Fun, & Chinese Work Songs were great albums and they had some really tasty stuff on other releases, too.
