Southern Blood

I have been listening to this a lot since I received it on Tuesday. Just a tremendous effort by Gregg. I am really enjoying it more and more with each listen. His voice sounds great. And I must add the band is just killer. If you don't have this already do yourself a favor and get it.

Thanks. I'll pick up a copy when I see one.

Just picked this up, great record! Favorite track is "Blind Bats and Swamp Rats", slow, sinister and spookyhad me jumpin sideways from the gators rustling in the swamp gas rolling out of the speakers across the floor - big Memphis horns, flashback to Tom Dowd. Got that track on repeat, it's a set decoration now.

It's one of those records where you go, "Wow, the good songs just keep coming!" Been spinning it a lot, I just love it............

Great album
On a side note, it forced me to pull out Saturate Before Using to hear the original Song for Adam

Really great versions of Song for Adam and Shadow Dream Song are on the GA Anthology or the Laid Back Outtakes (however you find it).
I really love his early 70's rendition of Song for Adam, his voice is stunning and his guitar playing is lovely.

Not many talkin' about Gregg's final album which seems odd for an Allman Brothers forum.
Took me quite awhile to get it through Amazon and I had pre-ordered.
It's still a bit sad for me to listen to it knowing it's the last we'll hear from him.... it has quite a country feel to it but I love it more with each listen and his voice sounds quite good considering how sick he really was as they recorded it.
I love Blind Bats and Swamp Rats, he could have had his old friend Dr. John on that track!

It’s beautiful. Just really really good music.
What a treat for us to have with his passing.
A great album.
