Spinning Dusty Springfield's "Dusty in Memphis" today, thinking again wow how Tom Dowd was out of this world on sound tech, arranging.

Any faves, engineers or projects? A couple jump to mind:

Tom Dowd, numero uno

Eat a Peach

Dusty in Memphis

Gimme Back My Bullets (imo his most underrated work)

Alvin Ranglin, Jamaican engineer, pretty sure he did a bunch for Gregory Isaacs, some of his work is scary good, as in best sound quality I have ever heard.

I have always enjoyed the vibe and the sound(s) that Daniel Lanois brought to the various projects he has been a part of

Martin Birch was on duty for some great Deep Purple, Rainbow, and Iron Maiden discs.

David Hentschel is an engineer / producer / keyboardist who played a big role in both Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and Genesis' "A Trick of the Tail," both great sounding albums.
