Some Acoustic Allman-Related Tunes I Covered

I've been recording an unplugged album of sorts, a little project that has been brewing for a while. I wanted to record something Blue Ridge Mountain Rangers-style, in which I perform all of the instruments. Naturally most of the songs thus far are Allman Bros-related so I thought I'd share here for some feedback. I will be the first to admit that my singing is pretty forgettable, so I hope you can make it through to the instrumentals. So far I've arranged "Statesboro Blues", "Games People Play", "Ain't Wasting Time No More", Peter Green's "Albatross", and "Little Martha". Hardly earth-shattering, but it was fun to put together. Let me know what you think.

I started a blog to discuss my process. Probably only interesting to me, but there it is.

Just recorded an acoustic version of "Soul Serenade". I'm trying to spare people my singing.

Thought the sound quality was good.....listened to Soul Serenade and Little Martha.........very nice! Good job!

Nice. I've been messing with a similar type of project where I play all the instruments on some of my songs. Here's one for anyone who's interested:

Thanks, appreciate it. I'm just using a small clip mic recording into a tablet and earbuds into my iphone. It's not studio quality or anything, but amazing what you can get out of such simple equipment.

Sounds good - it's not easy doing all of the tracks and getting a natural feel. Good stuff!

Some other originals.

I spent a while putting this together, and while I'm still no singer, it was fun to put together an acoustic version of my favorite Allman Brothers song, "Dreams"

Well done, Brett!
The first notes reminded me of Sierra Leone from the dTbs Soul Serenade album. Sounds great. Keep it up!

I loved it...i listened to all of them and i love your dobro playing.....good tone. and you certainly stay within yourself on the vocals.....if you tried it any other way it may not work....your singing isn't bad .......thoroughly enjoyable....thank you

That's great playing Brett! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks larzv! Very kind of you! Just listening is more than one can ask. I definitely know I'm more JJ Cale than Gregg Allman when it comes to singing.

Appreciate it, Brendan!

Nice!!

Just finished an acoustice cover of Herbie Hancock's "Fat Mama" - also my first time playing mandolin!

I have listened to these a few times. Good stuff.
You should swing by songcrafters.org to post some stuff. Very small but amusing musical community. Just make sure you comment more than post songs.

Thanks, Blooby, I'll check that out! Appreciate it! Considering how long it takes me to put together a recording, that shouldn't be an issue.

Just put together an acoustic "Into the Mystic"
