OK, so I'm riding around today and I've got the 2-11-72 Archive show on. (which is a must-have, if you don't already)

During Betts' solo section of You Don't Love Me, there is a second guitarist. He's heard only for a few brief licks, comping while Betts solos. And then again during the outro, and again, only briefly.

It's definitely NOT Dickie Betts adding a second part. I play guitar - I know.

It's not Oakley.

And the liner notes offer no insights.

Anyone know anything of this?

Chances are good that it's Gregg.

This has been talked about here before. There is no real definite proof, but the most likely answer seems to be Alex Taylor, James Taylor's brother.

Alex was signed to Capricorn at the time, and there is some anecdotal evidence he played at this show.

I know there are some members of this site who were at the show, maybe they can clarify in more detail.
