I was late to his party too.  This is good.  Lots of soul in his playing.

@robertdee Tommy Emmanuel is one of my favorites of any style or genre.  Check out his album with Chet Atkins - "The Day Finger Pickers Took Over the World".  I think he eclipsed his mentor on that one!  I've seen Tommy several times.  After each show, I swore to all I met that he was the best player in the world!  I've also said that about a few others, but Tommy is way up there in talent and technique.  I even got to speak with him briefly once - another super-nice guy superstar!

@rusty Yes there is no question Tommy is tops. No one better I say. Many great players out there and I'm sure we all have several which we feel are just as good as Tommy but I'd say none better!!

@rusty Someone told me today Eric Johnson is a fine acoustic player. I was only familiar with his electric guitar playing which is usually highly technical.

Molly Tuttle will be in my area soon and I'm planning to go. She supposedly has an all girl band this year. 

Went to see Molly Tuttle. She is a fine guitar player and singer. She certainly can flat pick an acoustic guitar!!! 

The late Don Reno and the late Tony Rice were decent acoustic players. 

I'm in the hospital, so their wi-fi won't let me share to this site, but there is a Youtube of Tommy E and Jack Pearson shredding "Avalon". It was the first time they met, at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society annual convention. 2AM in the ballroom Lobby with Muriel Anderson (google her, harp guitarist). I think it belongs in this thread if one of y'all could/would post it.
