Love Shemp! He was a nut just like Moe who was his brother as was Curly. The Stooges rock. Grew up watching all their WW2 era shorts and their feature movies were hilarious too. My grandfather on my Mom's side who died before I was born, was a stage and talent booker and manager at Baltimore, Maryland's now historic Hippodrome Theater in the 1940's when the theater showcased live acts from Hollywood, comedy, music, and vaudeville. He booked the 3 Stooges there and my Mom got to meet them when she was a little kid. Very cool!
