Savoy Brown - Louisiana Blues - Live

I've been listening a lot lately to Savoy Brown. I hear Kim Simmonds is back in the hospital battling Stage 4 cancer. What a shame. This is a hot video of Louisiana Blues. Kim tells a funny story about Muddy Waters.

Big fan of Savoy Brown and have all their albums up to through Boogie Brothers and a bunch of live CD's.
Used to go see them a couple of times a year at a small tavern Bull Run in Shirley, MA. He always put on a great show.
I was supposed to see Savoy this past August but they had to cancel due to Kim's health. Very sad to hear he is struggling now.

Check out the sign behind the drums in the first clip. Ludlow Garage!

When you see a smiling woman & a frowning man/he’s gotta ring in his nose & a ring on her hand
they’re as vastly unknown as the vastness & brilliance of their catalog - lost track after Lion’s Share altho Ride On Babe from Jack the Toad - “when my train pulls in/you’re gonna jump & shout…” ya
they were billed as Savoy Brown when I saw em in 2013 but it could just as well have been the Kim Simmonds Band too - good show, Kim played fantastic & they did Train To Nowhere😊🎶🎸
Kim of course Is Savoy Brown, in the same manner Ian is Jethro Tull - really hope he’s rebounding

Enjoyed this including the Muddy story.
I wasn't aware Kim was struggling with cancer.
His tone on the chords remind me of Billy Gibbons when he is playing a LP such as Pearly Gates.

Here is one I've been playing along with at home with my old Strat. My SG sounds good on this too.
Kim has a good Strat tone on this and it's very cool slow blues.

Love Savoy Brown. (((Kim)))

Here are 3 more of favorites from the later Savoy Brown years
Little Wheel from the Bring It Home album(John Lee Hooker cover. Pete McMahon on vocals and harp)
Close to Midnight from the Witchy Feelin album. Great album
Soho Girl - from the release Ain't Done Yet
