"Roadies" on Showtime - Lynnyrd Skynnard?

Did anybody watch Roadies last Sunday? My personal fan-ship of the show is fading (just too hokey and stoopid for the most part), but last Sunday's episode was ... interesting.
The head-dawg roadie, Phil (a "veteran" roadie played by comedian, Ron White) gives a recount of how he became a seasoned roadie. As per the story, he was an errand boy who impressed Ronnie Van Zant, who hired him as a security guard/errand boy.
I will not go into the entire story line. While Ron White actually turns in a fine job with his character, the exchanges between "Phil" and "Ronnie" just border on maudlin. I'm not going to even get into dissecting this.
The part that stuck in my personal crawl was this: As "Phil" narrates - the band (Skynnard" was arriving at "the worst type of bar..." following one of their shows. While sitting at the bar, Phil and Ronnie are approached by a neanderthal redneck - who gets into their faces and tells them that (something along the lines of) while LS might be a good band - they ain't shit compared to the Allman Brothers! As per the script, "Phil" stomps his foot and the redneck ABB fan wets himself and runs away.
While I agree with the sentiment of the neanderthal ABB fan, I just feel that whoever wrote this tripe has their wires all crossed-up. My own experiences have revealed that there are a lot of redneck tendencies among LS fans - much more so than with the ABB fandom.
The best part of the show: whoever cast this episode knocked the ball out of the park! The actors playing Skynnard (especially the Ronnie and Alan characters) looked like clones of the originals! The southern accents could have used some work, but they had the look down!

the show is a disaster and major letdown.

Yeah, that's what I heard. I guess you would have expected more from Cameron Crowe.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

I watch the show and agree, the actors they cast for Lynyrd Skynyrd looked a lot similiar to the band members. Saw the bar fight but somehow missed the Allman Bros reference. I have mixed feelings about the show in general. They have real artists perform occasionally and that's cool but as a whole, as someone else stated, it's more of a let down. Could be so much more with that type of content. I'll keep watching and hope it gets better.

Despite the quirky story lines I enjoy Roadies, it's not the greatest cable show but it keeps my interest, could it be a cooler show? Hell yeah, wish it was about the fabled stories of Red Dog and the rest of the gang from the good old days...
