RITCHIE BLACKMORE's RAINBOW Releases New Version Of 'Black Sheep Of The Family'

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Thanks, I like the new longer version and Romero has a great voice. I wish this version of Rainbow would put out a new album and play some shows on this side of the Atlantic.

That song has some history. As I recall, Ritchie had heard the song and loved it and decided to cut a recording of it with Dio in 1975 after having seen Dio's band Elf open for Deep Purple. Ritchie liked the results so much that he left Deep Purple to form Rainbow.

I always thought part of that story was that the rest of Deep Purple didn’t think Black Sheep was a good fit. After hearing the album Stormbringer I think it would have fit right in. Who knows with Ritchie...

Yeah.... I am not sure where this is going. Ritchie started this back up in 2016. He has only played a small handful of shows each summer including this one. I don't know what his objective is. I can understand the first year,2016 feeling things out, but it really has not expanded since. Very limited dates, and Europe only. I know they are going to be releasing another single this month, but it sounds like a cover of a Blackmores Night song. I got my hopes up a few months back when I heard Ronnie Romero quit Lord's Of Black. I was thinking a full time Rainbow gig...I don't know. Have to wait and see. Hopefully something.
