RIP Todd Nance, founding drummer of WSP

Not sure what happened but 57 years old is too fucking young to die. Rest in Peace, Todd. You will be missed. Thank you for helping to provide a huge chunk of the soundtrack to my life.
August is a brutal month.

Shoot, saddened to hear this - had my Panic period, saw em at Hampton Beach Casino w/Mike H playing seated
Rest In Peace, Todd Nance

Sad news. 57 is way too young.
I first saw Todd & Panic at the '91 Super Jam in Athens and then probably 10 more times in the 1990s. I jumped back on board for another 25 shows since Jimmy Herring joined. Todd was a part of all of those through 2014, including WSP with the ABB in Charlotte in '09 and when they started playing Wanee.
His heavy snare use is a key part of the WSP signature sound. Duane Trucks really honors that in his playing....wouldn't quite sound like Panic on those old tunes without it.
Family said sudden complications from a chronic illness. Rest Easy to the Toddfather of Athens.

Sad, I didn't know he had left the band. So I guess I've seen them with and without him. I liked the shows they did with the ABB.

Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

He was a very good drummer. Not sure the band improved with DuaneTrucks who is also good.

Great drummer. Seemed like he was always up for a jam. He played an amazing, loud show with Stained Souls (Col. Bruce & Tinsley] in Atlanta.
