If you're like me and you regularly read through album liner notes, you probably recognize the name Steve Alaimo. As many know here, he has a co-writing credit on "Melissa"  because Gregg sold him the song when he was trying to get out of his Liberty contract in LA. Phil Walden eventually bought half of it back during the 2nd half of recording Eat A Peach.

That was a small part of Alaimo's career who started as as teen idol, hosted Where The Action Is on TV, and was music a producer for Atlantic Records - most notably Sam & Dave and KC & the Sunshine Band.

While reading about him I stumbled across this performance of "Melissa" by Erykah Badu in a film House of D, it's new to me.
