RIP Michael Bloomfield

It was 38 years ago today we lost Michael Bloomfield. My dear friend, David Dann, who is publishing a book on him late this year, put another video together to honor him on this anniversary.

RIP Michael you were a real blues pioneer, I can't help but think that if Hendrix hadn't burned his guitar and The Who didn't smash their equipment at Monterey you would have gotten a lot more recognition.

RIP Mr. Bloomfield, one the immortals. His album If You Love These Blues, Play Them As You Please should be in every American home. The guy did his homework and knew his stuff. Jorma Kaukonen spoke very very highly of him when I took lessons from him at Fur Peace Ranch 10 years ago.

That's nice to hear. Thanks for sharing.
The Bloomfield box set includes a dvd called "Sweet Blues", where numerous well known musicians also sing his praise; Carlos Santana, Bob Dylan, B.B. King, John Fogerty, etc.

The Mighty Mighty Michael!!! Thank you Peg for your tireless efforts for this amazing man....

Had the great fortune of seeing Michael play twice with the Paul Butterfield Blues band. First show I ever attended was the PBBB opening for Muddy. Michael's contribution to music and his musicianship live today, equally as much as when he was alive. His legacy will live on forever.
