Thoughts and Prayers to Family. Great talent that gave a flare to the band. It was great that he toured with Oteil in the early TTB days.

I'll always remember Derek walking over to him while he played his solos. One of my favorite Kofi tunes is Let Me Get By. Almost carnavalistic, but cool.

I don't know why nobody answered your post or posted, the weather has been really bad all over for everybody. I saw the other thread first which is why I posted there.

It actually should've been posted inside the other thread, I started thinking of different Kofi moments and loved how Derek would go stand near Kofi when he did a solo (He's smart enough to keep his head out of the horns). I always thought it nice that he would draw attention to Kofi by locking his eyes on him bringing the crowds eyes too. I then remember Derek focusing and enjoying his riffs. Anyway I came on and started the thread when it would've proper to keep it all in one neat little thread in tribute. The more I scanned the more I realized it's a family band. The little gestures and notions, the smirks and smiles. Not just between D&S, but the whole band. On this vid you see Kofi giving the thumbs to Marcus King at the beginning and where Derek closes his eyes and just breathes in the sound during Kofi's lead ~5:20.

Here's a shaky at times video (No tripod/Beacon 1st Row Loge tarped)

For My Friend

I Cannot Make It (Apollo Theatre/ Kofi solo at 2:40)

Rest In Peace Brother.
