He was an awesome and innovative B-3 player and his stamp is all over just about every early Steppenwolf hit.

Steppenwolf was my favorite band as a youngster through my teen years. Loved that swirling B-3 sound.
Used to be a couple a year. Now we're losing our musical heroes every few weeks.
Rest In Peace Brother.

goldy was the first "heavy" organist i was ever aware of. i followed him on facebook and he seemed like a truly nice guy (except for when he would unleash on john kay then the gloves were off). i always have those early steppenwolf albums in constant rotation - a great band which should be in the RHOF.
btw - goldy's organ in the early days was not a hammond B3 but a lowry through a leslie.
