RIP Eliot Spindel

Just saw on Bert Holman's Facebook page that Eliot has passed on. 🙁

Very sad news. Eliot was an active member on this site, and I always enjoyed and appreciated his contributions.
Thanks for letting us know about this, BDOB.

And posted on FB by his friend Kim White who had been keeping everyone apprised of his health challenges this year, as well a nice eulogy.
"It is with great sadness that I have to let you all of know that after eight months in the hospital, Eliot has passed peacefully.
There will be a memorial service held at Inglis House on Tuesday, October 3rd at 3:15pm in Founders’ Hall – 2600 Belmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19131.
Eliot loved taking part in Inglis' trips program, especially to cultural exhibitions and performances. Eliot asked that in lieu of flowers, all gifts in his memory will support this program, which is solely funded by philanthropic contributions."

Eliot's words: "When I was injured I had a lot of time to think. I was determined to go on and not give up. I was not going to dwell on what I could not do, but find things I could do. I was just going to do things differently."
Sad day. Eliot was a mainstay of this fan community. And well before google, there was Eliot. We didn't miss a word of coverage the Allmans received in the early days of the internet's popularity. I'm not sure how he did it, but he found every article written and generously shared those with us fanatics here and on the ABB listserv.
He was also a fellow Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket, having attended there early college days there, so we bonded over that along with our love of the Allman Brothers.
He was an inpiration, giving so much to his community at Inglis. RIP my friend.

Eliot was an inspiration in many ways. I treasured seeing him sidestage at the Peach every year. Bert always made sure he was taken care of. He will be in my prayers this weekend through the holy days. He really was a blessing to our community.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear. He was a good guy, and it's always sad to lose somebody who was part of the online fan community for so long.

I saw him from a distance at the last ABB show. He was down in front and I just couldn't make it down there to make his acquaintance 🙁

Saddened to hear...... Eliot was one of the first I communicated with online, way back in the "old site" days. He always provided links to news and articles of things we, at the time would not have known otherwise.

Sail on Brother Elliot. And thank you for your support during Tyler's journey.....
