RIP Barry Bailey - Atlanta Rhythm Section guitarist

Sad to report the passing of Barry Bailey - guitarist extraordinaire of the Atlanta Rhythm Section. I have always held that the Atlanta Rhythm Section (ARS) was perhaps the most criminally under-rated band of all time. They got lumped in with an entire herd of bands as part of the "Southern Rock" genre (don't even get me started), but they were heads, tails and shoulders way above most all of those acts. Barry was a monster guitar player! I've always enjoyed pointing out the his solo on "Angel" was literally David Gilmour-esque. It never required much convincing on my behalf to get others to agree. I had the good fortune of seeing him/them on several occasions. Another of those bands incapable of turning in a bad show. God bless and rest Barry.
ARS - Angel
Peace.

I always liked ARS and many of my high school friends still give the band a spin. Agree with you about the Southern Rock thing. Gregg was right. Just another ploy to sell records.
Rock In Peace Mr. Bailey. Thanks for the good times at the keggers.

Hi Rusty, I agree 100%. Always LOVED the outro on Angel. You posted that Gilmouresqe thing several years ago and I looked at the screen with question marks in my eyes, A.R.S. Gilmouresqe? But I didn't even have to listen to the song, I just sat there and thought about it and it clicked big time! Now I think about that every time I hear it.
