RIP Alto Reed, Bob Seger's longtime sax player.  According to Bob Seger's message, Alto Reed died on Dec. 30 after a battle with colon cancer.  He was an impressive performer.  Very sad news.

Here's an article out of Detroit. That's sad. Growing up outside of Detroit I've seen him multiple times. He was quite the showman. Really added to The Silver Bullet Band's stage presence.

Man, I always loved his playing on those live albums.  I'll fire them up tomorrow night!

Caught Seger & Alto Reed, BSSBB 1986 ish and Reed to this day stands out. He was a sax monster.

I read an article about Seger commenting on this songs and how they were constructed. A good number of

his songs were finalized in the studio late after the gang went home and just Seger, Alto, Chris Campbell, Drew Abbott still working

on the songs. Seger gave credit to his band mates.
