First off, muchas gracias to Alan Paul.  I subscribe to his "Low Down and Dirty" emails and that is where I found out that W.C. Clark passed away on March 2nd of this year.  If you've never heard of W.C. Clark, I'm not surprised.  He was always way under the radar screen outside of Austin, but was instrumental in the blues scene there.  Just HOW instrumental you'll see if you're interested enough to read the above article.  I can't even remember now how I got turned on to him, but I was fortunate enough to catch him twice at Moe's Alley Blues Club in Santa Cruz, CA at least 25 years ago.  Talk about some jumpin' R&B!  Lover's Plea is an excellent record but based on this article I want to get more.  I have to admit I had completely forgotten about him for many years but pulled Lover's Plea off the rack when I saw Alan's email.

Just in case I need to whet your appetite to read this, in the 70's Stevie Ray Vaughan convinced Clark to quit his job as a mechanic at Ford Motor to join Stevie's band.
