Dickey Betts: Nobody Knows
Marking the first anniversary of Dickey's death with a reflection on the life and legacy of the ABB guitarist and vocalist, after 30 years of interviewing and writing about him.
When I heard, I called my son who was away at school to let him know. Dickey was his favorite Brother and while he knew it was no surprise, he was sad. He posted some pictures and some songs on his Instagram page. The road goes on forever... 🌹
Unfortunately with the circumstances of Dickey's passing it helped me reconnect with a longtime friend who I attended so many ABB shows with dating back to '72. Some times with sorrow comes rebirth.

I guess when one includes song writing, Dickey was the best guitarist the ABB had.
I remember Jaimoe was asked in an interview about Warren and he was complimentary but said "Warren isn't Betts. Betts is a mother f*****!! Listen to Dickey's tone!"
