Thanks Bruce for posting ..its so nice to see and hear Red Dog , hard to believe he will be gone 5 yrs in Feb 2016.
Lots of folks miss his posts and stories as well as myself. Also seeing Joe Dan was quite a lift. Remarkable and sad they are both gone from this life and have hopefully met up with all their brothers and sisters and all their families who have made that journey.

They live on in sprit for all who loved and cared about them. The Circle is not broken .

Red Dog was a decorated Vietnam veteran who loved his country , his freedoms , his family , son , dog Goldie and cat ( I think her name was meme or Michele ) and the music Duane and the ABB made .. Duane was his pided piper in many ways .
His love for Joe Dan was deep as was their brotherhood.

I remember seeing Joe Dan in Grinderswitch a few times here on L.I. back in the day... I think I wore out Macon Tracks album , which I still have in my many collections.
Hard again to believe that he will be gone 16 yrs in Jan. I can only hope his beautiful wife Judy and family have some peace in their hearts , I know there is unmeasurable amounts of love for him.

People have been aware of the world transition from a money/capital based economy to what will be a resource based economy. People will have to live in communities that sustain themselves because govt.'s will fail, and the people will have no choice but to either get together or die in wars. There is this guy name DUANE Elgin who is involved with other groups of people who created a Spiritual Community in Venice, California. (Called Full Circle Venice).

In 1999, a group of roughly 30 'evolutionary leaders' met with the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, India over a period of five days to explore "Synthesis Dialogues" and themes of the new paradigm and building a sustainable and a spiritual future for humanity.

Elgin has been a visiting scholar at Denison University in Ohio in May, 2004 (for a 5-day workshop on theme of “Simplicity and Envisioning a Positive Future”). Duane Elgin was described in April 2009 by the Ecologist Magazine as one of the ten leading visionaries with "big ideas for a better world".

Well guess what, DUANE Elgin co-authored a book called "Voluntary Simplicity: Toward a Way of Life that is Outwardly Simple, Inwardly Rich; and Changing Images of Man, which was co-authored with Joseph Campbell. Who happens to be one of his best friends, Joseph Campbell. Duane Elgin ain't Searchin' For Simplicity, he's helping others find it. Now what do you think about that!
