Who is Gene Odom?

@jszfunk. Gene Odom knew Ronnie Van Zant from childhood and as far as I know was permanently disabled in the 1977 plane crash that took Ronnie's life
Now he has an entertainment business headquartered in Florida that apparently I'd Lynyrd Skynyrd centered plus Gene has written one or two books about his knowledge and experience with Skynyrd.
