Received some great music in the mail today!!

Received these in the mail today:
Eric Clapton - Nothing But The Blues CD/DVD
Black Stone Cherry - Live At The Royal Albert Hall CD/Blu Ray
Looking forward to checking both out!!

I saw the Clapton tour when I think it was called "An Evening of Nothing But the Blues". I think it was in the mid 90s. I was really pumped about it. Probably one the most boring shows I have ever been to. Him sitting on a bar stool alone playing all of this old blues stuff with video behind him of whoever the song he was covering was by. While I liked the idea, it was bad.
I do still have my t-shirt from the show. 😀

I have a Nothing But the Blues bootleg of the original PBS broadcast which contains the the two extra songs, Ain't Nobody's Business and Driftin' on the Bluray version. Would be good to a an official cleaner release.

I thought Black Stone Cherry had a legitimate chance of being a real good rock/hard rock band. But IMHO they kinda took the direction of a cross over band getting more of a commercial feel. Disappointing.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Check this out Lee and everybody. I've seen Clapton play acoustic and dobro without a pick but it's rare, I think, for Clapton to play an electric guitar without a pick. I remember him doing just that on this song in 1995 and here it is!!!
He plays excellent electric blues guitar without a pick! Fingers only.

Posted by: @robertdee@lee Was there not an electric set too? I got bored with the acoustic and dobro sitting in a chair set too.
But the electric set with drums was some fine blues playing.
You are correct sir now that I think about it. Jimmy Vaughn opened the show and then came out and the end and they did play electric. Saved the concert for me.
I'm cool with an acoustic set, heck the ABB did it all the time in the 90s and I did like that with Gregg, Dickey, Warren and Woody sitting down. That was fun.
But 90 minutes or whatever it was watching that was too much. I have gone to blues shows for many years and nothing was like this. Especially when it is Clapton of all people.

@lee I can understand that. You paid to see Eric Clapton and traditionally that means electric guitar, bass, drums and some keys. Not sitting in a chair with acoustic guitars and perhaps a dobro.
You didn't go to see Doc Watson or Tony Rice or Leo Kottke etc.
