Heard a really long version of the Temptations "Get Ready" by Rare Earth the other day. It was different, I kinda liked it. Rare Earth is not a band that has ever been on my radar other than "I Just Want To Celebrate".

Any fans on here?

Any suggestions to listen to by them?

if it was on the radio you probably heard side 2 from Rare Earth In Concert - two records in this bag.
Album looks like a knapsack and opens from the top. It came out in 71-72 and is noted on the back as
Newly Recorded "Live" versions of Rare Earth's Greatest Hits.
the album contains 8 songs on 4 sides so they stretch some things you may remember from the radio versions to be a little longer, especially Get Ready which clocks in at just over 23 minutes. I remember the only thing I did not like about the album was after 2 songs you had to flip the record over or change to the second LP.

Or it could be from the 20th Century Masters Best of Rare Earth. If you're looking to buy this is cheaper and more readily available than the Rare Earth in Concert album.

They were always an excellent band in my book. Hell, they were the only white band on Motown - that alone should have them earned everyone's respect.

They were all excellent musicians and I particularly liked Ray Monette's guitar playing. The guy could really rock a wah-wah.

Had this in high school on vinyl and spent years tracking it down on CD. It's out of print and can be expensive, but it's well worth it:

You know the CD is rare when you can get a used vinyl copy cheaper than a used CD.

'Zackly!

I still have that record in the bizarre cardboard sleeve that marco talked about. Never seen anything like it before or since - it should be a collector's item just for that.
