I recently bought this nice vinyl bootleg from 1973 called "Statesboro Blues" credited to Duane Allman but containing an ABB show with Duane from sep / oct 1971. I'm still confused from which show these mono recordings were pulled. It's not the bootleg version of Ludlow's Garage with the same title.

It's often referred to as Duane's last show or last recorded show but i think that's incorrect.
In Dean Reynolds ABB discography book it's from another show which i also think is incorrect.
Is it from 09/19/71, SUNY, Stonybrook? Much obliged.

Thanks for the info. Setlist wise it could indeed be that show. Since it's one of the other 4 known recorded shows that have Blue Sky with Duane. Do you know how it was determined that it's Clemson 9-11-1971? No info on the album jacket and the little info found on the www is incorrect.

Yeah, i was very lucky finding it last week on the Mega Vinyl and Cd Fair in Utrecht, Netherlands. One of the biggest fairs in the world. A bit overwhelming. Paid 27 euro's for it which is great price in these days.
My version has white labels. The jacket is white as well with the front image pasted on it. Back side contains a bunch of funny cartoons and the "Contra Band" bootleg label logo. Vinyl is black.

Pretty poor quality ... Masahiko did a re-master a few years ago but it is still grade B ... however as there are only 4 known shows with live versions of Blue Sky with Duane it is still a collectors piece

That's very cool! Thanks for sharing. As posted the quality leaves much to be desired yet i still would rank it as listenable. It's an audience recording. I think only one mike and it's described as mono. For historic reasons i dig it. If it would be a band i'm not so fanatic about i probably would not rank it as such. There's also a bit of audible on stage banter that causes people near the microphone to laugh / giggle which is amusing. Since you were at the show (how cool is that!) you will enjoy it too and will find it a cool addition to your ABB collection. A great Father's Day gift indeed.

Thanks for the offer Harvey, but I have had both cd versions for years. But since I've gone from Cd, to electronic, now I'm back collecting and listening to my vinyl collection, which I steadfastly refused to rid my music room of that "clutter" over the last 20 years. Had my old technics TT overhauled last spring and it does sound sweet. friends of the CDA(Central Dance Assoc) members at Clemson would often hide a reel to reel under the stage and put a mike somewhere at front/center of the stage and record concerts during my years there (fall of69 - spring of 73). this show sounds like one of those recordings. It was an awesome time musically and historically to be a part of everything that was going on, on campuses across the USA. This thread has brought a rush of memories back to me over the last couple of days.
That's great Willie ... and thank you for sharing your memories ... I really enjoy hearing peoples tales of Duane era ABB shows that they went to. We didn't get to see the ABB in the UK until July 1974 and so I never had the opportunity to see Duane live ... I guess that is why I have fanatically collected all of his live performances over the years ...
Back in those days quite a bit of shows were recorded with those small portable hand held cassette decks (Panasonic, Sony) with the push down buttons and tiny built in mics. People would also record their classes, lectures with them as they did a much better job with spoken words then with trying to record music.
