Has nothing to do with being cool, it is just plain rude to the other fans there who came to listen to the music. If you want to talk why not go out to the lobby? If you are at a movie would you be o.k. if the people behind carried on a conversation while the movie is playing? just have some common courtesy is all anyone is asking for.

I try to be proactive. Before the show begins I ask the folks around me, "Did you hear about that guy they took to the hospital last night? He wouldn't shut up and two fans beat the living hell out of him. Tough luck, but can you blame them?"
