Play All Night

- Yep. Real good book on Duane and the boys by a longtime member of this site Bob Beatty. Read it.Â

Yes....got this book a couple weeks ago and I've enjoyed it so far.  Good writing and cool insights, including some this fanatic never knew.  Good pictures, too.  Author currently on a book tour, too.
Â
Bob is a historian and in the museum industry, so he gives a perspective that is a bit unique from other ABB books....it's not just a re-hash if you've read the others.
Â
For those on Facebook here's his group about the book/book tour (search Long Live the ABB or Long Live the Allman Brothers Band on FB)

And here is a Glide magazine review:

Bob is a top fella and there is no one more passionate about this music. Don't hesitate to pick this up

Got my copy of the book and it's concise and well written. Recommended it to any ABB fan!Â
Found this a few days ago. 3/25/71 St. Catherine's college Minneapolis, Minnesota. The guys are really hitting the note. High octane energy.Â
Duane Allman is on fire!! Proving again Duane was the hottest slide guitar player ever in the Allman Brothers all lineups considered. Brother Gregg said in 2015 his brother was the hottest guitarist he ever worked with and he could light a fire on a stage in a NY minute. Well these slide songs are burning 🔥🔥 HOT!

That they are - great find, looking forward to hearing the rest of this

Apparently this is the official band sanctioned next phase of the Allman Brothers Band. Tribute band it would be. I assume they will never introduce any new songs which post date 2014.Â

Robertdee, "Yup! You guessed it!"
This is from the second show. I was at the first and boy, were they good. Roadies (I didn't know who was who) were nailing the drum kits to the stage floor. I'm pretty there were 24 mic checks.
It was a general admission show, not sold out. To this day I have no idea why I didn't stay for the second set.
BTW, I'm pretty sure the tickets were $5. According to https://www.minneapolisfed.org/ this would be about $36 today. Sigh.

Posted by: @robertdeeRight before Must Have Done Someone Wrong, at St. Catherine's college, It sounds as if Duane says "Elmore James was a pretty good sidle player. He never got to see me"
