Sorry I'm late to responding, but I really love the sounds of Oteil and Friends. It actually makes the hair move on my neck when I listen to it. If I close my eyes It sounds just like the Brothers. Better yet, who would have thought that some years later the sons of three of the original band would be playing on the same stage as their fathers. Pretty Kool i say. This would be a great addition to my collection of shows... Thanks again for sharing and long live The Allman Brothers and Their Music******.

@rcgp2020 Yeah at times the Allman Betts Band gives that Allman Brothers vibe and Otiel was in the bass chair longer than anybody. 1997-2014. I remember when it go out Gregg wanted Otiel fired. Not sure why. But supposedly Warren Haynes was going to quit it they did it. I read that sorry in two different places but it could be BS. You never know.
Berry Duane Oakley has his father's Fender Tractor bass but I read he doesn't take it out much. Must not be it on stage. Dickey Betts gave it to him years ago.
Devon Allman inherited all 42 of Gregg Allman's guitars. He takes about 10 or so on the road with him.
Duane Betts has a couple of acoustics (Gibson and Martin) that are Dickey's. Plus his number one is Dickey's 2001 Les Paul Gold Top signature custom. It has a great tone. And on certain songs Duane uses Dickey's 1961 ES-335 dot neck and Dickey's 1956 Stratocaster hardtail. But the Gold Top on 90 percent of the live stuff.
I've seen them three times now and before they start and you see that Goldtop, 1961 ES-335 dot neck and the 56 Strat Hardtail with a heck of a lot of road wear standing up in Duane's rack on stage, it makes you think Dickey is there:)
The 1956 Strat.
The 1961 ES-335. Great tone and solo from Dickey.
The 2001 Les Paul Goldtop Dickey Betts custom and Devon on one of Gregg's guitars. A Telecaster from some year.

Your spot on @robertdee. I also saw the Devon Allman Band with special guest Duane Betts a few years a go up at Summer Fest in Milwaukee. What a great show. Haven't seen the Allman Betts Band other than via online, but I really like the vibe they have.
And I forget to mention that there were actually four sons on stage at once at This years Peach Fest as Lamar Williams Jr., was doing vocals on Midnight Rider. Saw him a few years back at GABBA Fest. He was awesome to chat with as he has such a great personality.
Thanks for your postings!

@rcgp2020 Yes Lamar Williams, Jr is a fine vocalist and everyone says a great guy. His father was a fine bass player, good friend of Jaimoe's and just 34 when he died. Apparently he had been exposed to Agent Orange when in Vietnam.

@rcgp2020 Go over to 4:30 and listen for 10 minutes or so at how solid Lamar William, Sr. was on bass guitar. In my headphones Jaimoe is on the opposite side just how it was on stage. Jaimoe is playing straight up JAZZ licks kinda like a percussion player! No way Butch, John Bonham or Ginger Baker can't touch Jaimoe Johnson playing drums like this. Maybe Max Roach could!

I agree, this is great stuff.
I think Lamar saved The Allman Brothers Band and helped to propel them beyond anybody's imagination. It's funny, I guess Lamar was the last to audition to replace Berry Oakley in the band.
Got to also mention that had it not been for the friendship between Lamar and Jaimoe when they were both young kids, who knows what would have become of The Allman Brothers Band. These guys played togeather in the same band and I'm sure that helped when it came time to hit the stage.
Scott Freeman does a great job of pointing this out in his book "Midnight Rider, The story of the Allman Brothers Band." 1995 Little Brown and Company. Get this book if you can...
Thanks for starting my day with some Brothers!
