I was a fan of the band and used to watch the Happening shows they were on back in the mid 1960's. Saved up my allowance and bought their big hits on 45 single's to play on my suitcase record player back then. Those really were "Happy Days".

Some bad lip syncing in some of those videos

@bill_graham the bottom video reminds me of Elenore Rigby by the Beatles.

I seem to remember like J. Giles, Paul Revere wasn't the lead singer. Wasn't it Mark Linsey?

Yup, Mark Lindsay.

Paul Revere and the Raiders were almost the Monkees.  Both utilized the Wrecking Crew studio musicians.  "Steppin' Stone" and "Kicks" - with that combo organ style are almost interchangeable.  The Raiders featured some serious and seasoned players over the years.  Freddie Weller was from Atlanta - as was his friend, Joe South.  As a C&W artist, Freddie covered a couple of Joe's tunes.  He also co-wrote several of Tommy Roe's (another Atlantan) songs.  I dug 'em!  😉

I've been viewing a lot of their videos on YouTube and the thing that strikes me about them is that they were having a lot of fun. They included goofy comedy from the beginning ("Louie, Go Home" stands out), yet were an extremely strong band.

Love them! They were a big influence on Tom petty and he played them regularly on his buried treasure Sirius radio show.
