pal's Jack Pearson story

Buddy of mine sent me this yesterday:
I just had an amazing mindf**k. When I was 19 (1976) I saw this band in an empty hole in the wall two nights in a row in Ft. Walton Beach playing GREAT Allmans, Eagles, etc. Two guitarists, one looked and played just like Duane (gold top and all), the other very reminiscent of Dickey (sunburst Les Paul). They were called Renegade, said they were from Huntsville. Hung out, drank beer, and smoked joints with them during their breaks. I always wondered what happened to them. Well... was just reading an interview with Jack Pearson: it was him and LeRoy Parnell!!!

WOW..that is a great story!!

Now THAT is a very cool story!!

If the reunion ever happens, and Dickey, Warren, and Derek are not involved, I would pay to see these two filling the guitar slots. Would like to see Lee Roy more involved and jamming with ABB members.

This is how Lee Roy and Jack met. Cool Story!

Possibly the only way that I would jump on the bandwagon. Even then, it would still be tantamount to a cover band playing 40 year old material. Yeah, I know the argument : "records don't sell - production costs too expensive ...". They could always go the Jackson Browne ("Running on Empty") route and release a LIVE recording of NEW material. Chances of this happening are up there with me starting a successful snow-cone franchise in Hell. 😉
