Went to see Oteil's band last night in Chicago. What a show! It was a total Dead-Fest. Everyone wearing tie-dye, people twirling. Strong aroma. 😉Â
They on on a great show. I had never seen Steve Kimock, one of the guitar players. He was really good. But for me, the guy that stole the show was Melvin Seals, the keyboard player. I couldn't believe the stuff he was playing. I think both played in The Jerry Garcia Band. All of the guys got a solo which was cool.
They did one Dead song in the first set and teased another. In the second set they played Liz Reed.

Melvin and Kimock were quite the coup for Oteil to land --- hope to catch them soon!
Always good to hear good things about Oteil! I really miss Oteil and the Peacemakers. I hope some day they reassemble. Â
