original music

Well, here is a video of my band playing a song we wrote called "Daisy's Dock." We're performing at a brewery in Monroe CT. If you have a few minutes, see what you think. Our lead guitarist is really very good. I'm the singing fool with the burgundy Les Paul:

Band sounds pretty tight, I dig the groove, nice jammy song. Guitarist with the wah is really good. I love seeing the music people around here are making so thanks for sharing!
Also, how is the beer there? 😉

Sounds great Jim. Nice guitars all around too. Nice groove and lots of fun. Keep them coming.
It always surprised me that this forum didn't have an original music thread/section. Lots of talented people have passed through over the years.

Good idea.
Also with technology & the internet today the way it is, there could be an effort to have different people on this forum collaborate adding ideas and instruments incrementally.

Thanks, guys.
The beer there is pretty good! Always fresh, at least. The band gets unlimited tap beer, which is so much better than the ever-unreliable partial band tab that some bars offer: "You have a $50 credit toward drinks...." which always ends up trouble.
My part of CT is finally starting to garner more local breweries. We keep drinking, so it was about time someone built us some breweries.

So who is up next with some original tunes and/or your band playing something?

I don't want to repost things but to keep the ball rolling.
This is one of the acts that I play with. Have know him since he was a teenager working for me. When others his age were listening to M&M - he was playing 25 minute long Genesis/Yes songs for me.

Nice thread
Looking forward to listening
Here's my lot -

That's a pretty solid act, CanadianMule. Gotta love a lady on bass 😉
I dig the Equatorial Group sound, scotiadave, almost like Heart meets Niko Case. You have a new fan!
I've been working on a project recording all of the pieces of songs (covers pretty much) acoustically using mandolins and resonators, lots of slide guitar. The full site is http://www.brettbob.com/ but here are a couple of recent tunes:

Nice! Got a Steely Dan-ish groove happenin' here!

Here's a tune written by the keyboard player in one of my bands:
2 tunes I co-wrote (1st around 4:00 mark, 2nd about 21:00):

Jim, I enjoyed your band. Fun song and well played!

Some really great stuff guys. Great to see everyone playing and having fun. There have been so many talented musicians on here over the years. Shame we didn't have a thread like this sooner.
Thanks Jim.
My other band is more classic rock/blues. With Jasen the tunes are all over the map. Fun
Jasen and I are doing a show on Thursday with just the two of us. Him on piano/me the guitar. Will post some videos an this time told my wife not to shoot the table. LOL
She Is Oh So - tune kicks in at about 1:10

That's cool ! Reminds of John Miles/Genesis sorta feel.

Jasen and I did a last minute set with just him on piano and me on guitar. Helped fill an empty spot. Quiet night with just a few friends (it was another guy's release party and not many showed sadly).
We were happy to fill in for a set. Bare in mind that Jasen is our drummer. He will tell you that he can't play piano (even though he writes his songs on piano). I disagree and think he does just fine.
His tunes are not so much the style that some on here favor but he is a real talented guy. Some glitches here and there, he threw some tunes at me that I didn't know and some I had never even heard but I get through them with some definite lost moments. LOL
Sounds very different with the full band. But it was fun.
Sadly mic placement wasn't very good for recording so my guitar is low in the mix. But you get the idea.

The third song in really blows me away. Waiting for My Real Life To Begin by Colin Hay. Jasen is going through some tough times right now and the song obviously has great meaning to him. Sings and plays his ass off.

Zaphod Beeblebrox , isn't that where the Stones filmed the video for " Streets Of Love "

Yes it is. Was a great day! The Stones in a bar.
That is why I tell people that I play the same stages as The Stones. 😉
Sadly it closed last week.

I arranged an acoustic version of "Mountain Jam" using resonator guitars - had to give it a try.

That was great, Bob. Really enjoyed that. Nice sounds and great playing. I love this thread and hope to hear more from the members on here. We should have started a thread like this years ago. Beats the hell out of arguing with trolls and/or arguing politics.

Very good, Bob!
