Thanks! Years back, I bought a blues compilation box set at an office book fair. Turns out included a Muddy live cd. That alone was worth it! I think I've about worn it out. Here's to the great "Muddy... Mississippi Waters" Cool

I was lucky enough to see Muddy what amazed me was how quiet they played....no screaming guitar playing no over the top volume....probably 80DB was the loudest they got....Was an experience I've only had once because everyone play way too loud....

At the end of the show Pinetop Perkins came back out and played Piano for the patrons who were just mingling around after the show....very cool show and a great memory

Not to hijack the thread but I have a great memory of Pinetop Perkins. I've probably posted this before but several years ago I got home from work and picked up the local entertainment newspaper and saw that Pinetop was playing this club on the west side of Chicago called Rosa's Lounge that night. It was an 80th birthday party for him. So I called the club and asked if I could get in.

The guy told me I could and told me not to mention this to anyone but Koko Taylor is going to be there. So I go to my local watering hole and I mention to a couple of friends where I was going that night. I threw in the Koko Taylor mention and my one friend perks up and says "God I love her". So I took him with me.

Pinetop was sitting at a table by himself and I asked if I could sit with him. He said "sure". So he and I shared a piece of birthday cake together.

I've had a lot of great blues memories in Chicago but that may have been the best. He was a true grentleman.
