No Thanks?

I normally go straight to the forum section of Hittin the Web, but today I thought I'd go through the "front door" expecting to see a notice saying to the like of "ABB have hung their boots up bit would like to say thank you to all the fans that have supported them over years" etc. But nothing. Dunno about you but I think that's a bit rubbish.
Well I'm not bitter though, and I'm happy to say thanks for the music and the good times even if I'm not getting any thanks for being a fan.

They got your money...and gave a performance for the money.
And...you want more?! 😮 😉

Message to the fans from Gregg Allman.
It’s taken a few days at home relaxing for the conclusion of the Allman Brothers Band to soak in. It still hasn’t totally hit me. Thanks to the fans that made our final Beacon shows so exciting. Thank you to all the great fans everywhere, brothers and sisters, for your loving support throughout the years. I’m excited to get back on the road this holiday season with my solo band, Gregg Allman and Friends. See y’all there! - GA

Jaimoe in particular said some nice things at the last show. I think he ended with "Thank god for Duane Allman and thank god for you!"

Y'all a great bunch!". How many times do you need to hear it? 😉

I don't think the OP had in mind mumbled speeches to the 2,800 in the house.
Perhaps someone is still reluctant to admit that it's over for good!

yeah, now that I think back, I don't think I have ever had one word of thanks from bands that I liked when they broke up or quit, or whatever. Damn rocknrollers, no manners atall.

If i'm not mistaken,my recollection from the show is that at the close & during the show,Gregg expressed his gratitude to the fans.I may be wrong, gotta listen back.
as a huge Dylan fan 've been "trained" to be happy that i experienced the artist and to expect nothing in return but some first rate, kick ass music!
we all have different expectations.

The Who and KISS and done it at least a half dozen times each. 😛

People are just overwhelmed and not sure what the future holds. The band in the configuration, with the players that have been the mainstay since the fax incident are moving into different directions; well two of them are and the others are taking some time to get their bearings and figure out what to do next. Gregg ain't wastin' time no more, he already has gigs booked because he doesn't want to retire and isn't going to. That ought to be obvious to everybody.
I think they could get back together with some new players and then do shows but on a more limited basis.
I think you may even see them back at that Beacon with the marquee saying something like,
'WE'RE BACK'. This will take some time though. I'd like to see Devon get drafted and put in the mix.
There are no absolutes in life, no always, everyone, everything, all the time, never does not exist either. Never is a choice people make when opportunity presents itself more than one time. That is all that never is.
