Love that they're preparing a 2nd album - that's incredibly encouraging.

I agree. I have seen Devon live many times since his Honeytribe days and really dig his music but i never ever thought his voice resembles Gregg's voice nor do i think he's in the same league. Well, he doesn't have to be. He has a damn fine voice of his own.

Gotta disagree with that statement. Nowhere near his father's natural growl. (Imho) Devin strikes me as a person who just tries, well, too hard. His vocals as well as his guitar playing are .....exaggerated

Not to pile on, but Gregg's voice was pretty incomparable. Devon doesn't have the vocal control, there's something very 1990s about his voice that always sounds like it's about to wail off key.
I really enjoyed the several Allman Betts Band shows I've seen. Looking forward to the release of the new CD and where they go from there.

Eh....average bar room rocker. Nothing memorable.Solid at best and that's as far as it goes. People want to jump on the band wagon because of the name and association. I get it. Maybe give them some time and see what happens before anointing them anything. Only have seen live clips and they seem pretty decent. Potential is there I think, might need some help in the song writing dept if this song is they're best effort for a single. Usually singles are the weakest ones anyways.. Johnny Stachela is very talented player. Has that ABB slide vibe down real good.
Gregg is dead, folks. Devon ain't Gregg, and Duane ain't Dickey. But, they are doing their own thing, despite the usual ABB fan burden - and I for one am digging it.
