Did the Warren / Derek lineup ever do this song?

Tonight is a night of listening to old Mac for me and it struck me that Warren (particularly) and Derek would be really neat to hear doing this one.

Not sure - vaguely remember Jack/Dickey lineup playing summer '97.

I think you may be right. I seem to remember the last lineup playing something off Enlighten Rogues, an album that sold well and went gold but the Warren, Dickey lineup ignored. Indeed after 1982, all three of the albums from the Toler, Goldflies lineup were ignored but I do seem to remember the Warren, Derek lineup doing something off Enlighten Rogues. Butch Trucks said that was their weakest lineup as the chemistry wasn't right and it got even worse when they voted Jaimoe out of the band, something Butch and Gregg later said they deeply regretted.

I don't recall the Jack, Dickey lineup playing Need Your Love So Bad. That lineup did bring back Dimples with Jack singing. Originial lineup would play it just occassionally and Duane sang it. It was never on an ABB album but a live version is on Duane Allman an anthology volume two.

According to the ABB set lists, Jack & Dickey lineup played "Need Your Love So Bad" a number of times in 1997. The Derek & Warren lineup played it twice at the Beacon 2004 run.

Regarding the last lineup playing other Enlightened Rogues songs, they played "Just Ain't Easy" twice during the 2005 Beacon run.

Okay. The last line up did. Need Your Love So Bad was a blues cover Gregg selected for Enlighten Rogues, Just Ain't Easy is the only song Gregg wrote for Enlighten Rogues. Just Ain't Easy has backing vocals and its Gregg, Dickey and Butch backing up Gregg's lead vocal track. Crazy Love has Bonnie Bramblet backing Dickey and Sail Away has Mimi Hart backing Dickey with Gregg saying they are doing this for the two brothers at the beginning. This was the first album the ABB had non band members singing. Skynyrd had been doing it. As a matter of fact Reach For The Sky and Brothers Of The Road also had non band members singing. Starting with Seven Turns it was back to only band members.
