Well Cousins just tore his Achilles and is out for the year. Bummer.

Yeah, I watched the game..........SOOO sad for New Orleans fans........in fact, it makes ME sad because I was really starting to enjoy watching The Pelicans..........the way Davis and Cousins were working it inside with their interior passing was really nice, and they have some players around those guys. They were coming on too............beating Houston last night @ home and Boston last week, in Boston. What a damn shame.

Hey Stephen.........BIG one tonight in Oakland...........you took us in Boston already...........wanna mail me my $100 now or after tonight's game? <>..........I just have a feeling we're gonna run you outta the gym tonight..........but hey, "that's why they play the game"..........

"The team you saw before, is the one you'll see again"
😮 Grin Grin -- haha! Yep fun one tonite Rob -- expect to see top-juggernaut home team showing why it's best in recent times -- we'll be with ya into the final quatah -- make it $25 not $100 😛 😛
might've been more if Marcus S lost his fight w/that window 😮 -- thought to not be much dfrnt from TB's stitches, mite be out there tonite -- chill Marcus, we need our 6th man out there

yeah & DEMarcus -- he was raisin the bar alright, SUCKS for NO & hoops fans -- Boogie was breathing air-rarified among big men

what a shock -- no meddling toolhead father around, & Lakers are thriving

the story of Markelle Fultz gets weirder & weirder -- his game, according to a recent espn article, has deserted him temporarily -- this came on top of a diagnosis of "a scapular imbalance in the muscles of his shoulders" ......yes they've improved but their Process has deep-(7)6'd them more often than not -- along w/bad picks & luck

Marcus is out at least 2 weeks so he will not be out there. Which with his great defensive ability to switch and guard anybody is a big loss.

Warriors 109 Celtics 105

To me, probably the game of the year so far.........just SO fun to watch. And fun to watch two superstars put it all on the line for their teams. Kyrie Irving (37) was GREAT last night..........Steph Curry (49) just a little bit greater. One of those games by Curry when Warriors fans just sit back and admire, but I think the basketball universe must have admired............when he gets in the zone like that it's just LIGHTS OUT. Who can guard him? Same goes for Irving!

Just two heavyweight, powerhouse teams duking it out..........I thought several times in the second half that we had put enough distance between us with 10 point leads as Celtics did to us in the first half. Didn't matter, Celtics always came back.

The biggest difference I see between the two teams right now: We have three guys in Curry, Durant and Thompson who are capable of taking over a game offensively. Celtics have ONE. They rely way, way too much on Irving to put the ball in the hole. This is why I do not think the Celts at this point could ever take the Warriors in a 7 game series. Getting Gordon Hayward back is going to be really, really important to them.

That was a great NBA regular season game. Steph was ridiculous and Kyrie brilliant and it was an intense game. In the 2 meetings this year the score is 197-197.

Great ballgame -- Mr. Curry -- an athlete hitting the zone -- Kyrie 1st half, Stephen basically the whole game -- dfrnt subject, didn't know Marcus' hand was that bad, yikes -- but Warriyz (mock-Boston accent as always) rawk --

good point Rob on dependence on Kyrie -- we've had to lean-heavy on Kyrie & it's worked out super -- but yes, in a 7 game series, that could change -- no playoff game could top that one tho, great stuff -- Danny, that was some trade -- boy was I wrong....
look up bro, "AB available for trade," if he was available to return to Celts, he could only help, w/out upsetting the current rotation

HOWEVER -- if it did come to that (hypothetical C's-GSW final) -- outside chance Gordon H could indeed be in uniform -- word, IF the rehab continued 'apace', he'd be medically cleared to resume basketball activities' end of March --
or right around end of reg season -- then another 6 weeks or so of more game-rehab

But gotta hand it to Spurs too, w/out their best player, Kawhi Leonard, they just keep winning -- Tony Parker has now joined Ginobli coming off bench, to xclnt effect -- there's a new kid there now, Forbes -- Popovich is everything to Spurs, Red was to us

Leonard's injury is one I've never heard of before -- right quad tendiopathy -- media reports persist about off-court stuff keeping Kawhi off court too -- both he & team deny any 'rift' regarding the treatment of his tendiopathy

not the desired results yet for IT but Cleve is rebounding -- must be nice, one ex-MVP, Dwayne Wade, exits, & another, Derrick Rose, shows up -- they were going good w/Calderon, now he's riding the pine

SO WHAT -- until he returns we're calling him Not-so, not Marcus 😮 -- easy ones this week, look for Semi/Theis, good chance for them -- let's go C's

long way to go yet -- they're saying he's rehabbing better than expected -- again it's an IF -- an outside one, but a chance nonetheless -- coach is saying Expects, not Won't Be Grin back this season -- what a season it's been too -- ghastly injury beginning of it -- to, possibly, a great return at the end of it in June

Dont ya wonder if Gordon is thinking ,"jeez guys,
cant ya just struggle a little bit here without me!!" 😛 😛 😉 😉

They have not really missed a beat. It will be interesting
to see when he comes back and they are at full strength.

Playoffs are a WHOLE different ballgame, Celts will need another scorer if they hold any hopes of winning it all.

i know-the games are meaningless to some, but if you love the NBA,it's been a GREAT summer with lots to look forward to.......should be FUN Grin

yep a fun 2nd half of season (post all-star game)
Their backcourt is second to no one's save Curry/Klay -- Tor is right there w/anyone in league -- Kyrie probable to play tonite -- Not-so by end of week --
Tor crowd will be enRaptored -- by top-shelf hoops that will tell plenty about where these squads stand -- Sharp 2nite Boys, let's go

if the Warriors extend OKC to L5 tonite, & the Jazz go W7 tmrw at Memphis, suddenly Utah just 3 back of OKC -- things change quickly in the NBA -- Big Z, I mean Blake Griffin & the Detroit Pistons, W5??

season, & Fred Hoiberg's tenure, likely overwith in Windy City.....injuries to Messers. Fultz & K.Leonard continue to baffle experts
....Joel Embiid said he felt great after playing back to backs last week -- I Am Not A Phila Fan & Never Will Be, but it's good to see a player of his talent, who's had several surgeries, being able to play full time -- Let's go Celts

Watched Detroit - Portland last night...........YES, Griffin/Drummond combo looks lethal, they are already starting to put it together after only 5 games. Looks like this trade was great for Detroit. Griffin was just on fire last night, hitting from everywhere on the court. Detroit looks like they could make some noise in the East playoff standings.

Great one tonight, OKC @ Warriors. Warriors need to step it up, we have lost 2 of our last 3..........Utah (L), Sacramento (W), Denver (L). But you just can't be ON for the entire 82 games. I'm sure Warriors will be UP for OKC tonight.

Raptors all over the Celtics last night. Their bench is so improved and makes such a difference to last season. DeRozen, Lowry and JV have all been lights out this year too. Will be interesting come playoff time.

WOW. I'm kind of in shock over the beating that OKC gave my Warriors last night in Oakland. Russell Westbrook had one of his scary dominant games with lots of highlight plays..........he had 34, Paul George had 38 and Steven Adams had 14 points and 10 rebounds as he seemingly had his way inside against the Warriors' "center by committee".

Even more interesting since OKC had lost 4 straight going into this game, the Warriors had lost 2 out of 3. You would have thought the Warriors would be ready but they could not match the Thunder's intensity and got in a big first quarter hole that they never could crawl out of as OKC scored 42 points in the first quarter alone. That means that the Warriors have now lost 3 out of 4, something that has not happened before during Steve Kerr's coaching tenure.

As the announcers said, this was a statement game, and should make for a very interesting series if these two should meet in the playoffs. My feeling is that the Warriors are in a mid-season lull. They'll be back.

My sympathies to Knicks fans: Kristap Porzingis out for the season, torn ACL.

Just one more side note: I watched Philly blow out Washington last night before Warriors' game. BEN SIMMONS IS A SCARY TALENT!!! Seriously, I have NEVER seen anyone at 6'10" handle the ball like this dude!!! And he can play ANY position! With he and Embiid, barring injury, 76ers will be a force for years to come.................

4 wins in a row for the Pistons now. Need to sit down and watch a game with Griffin.

I was looking up some info on the Pacers game tonight. Its postponed
in New Orleans due to a leak in the roof. I got a kick out of the
name of the arena where they play at. Its called the Smoothie King Center. 😉 😛

The NBA trade deadline is today at 3:00 PM Eastern time. I am going to make a prediction: The Warriors will make a deal to obtain a big man who is a defensive presence and can protect the rim. Who they get and who they trade is beyond me. But I think losing 3 of their last 4 has exposed that fact that a defensive presence in the paint is their glaring weakness. The center by committee trio of Zasa Pachulia, David West and Javale McGee is just not getting it done, and really West is a forward anyway.

I only wonder why the Celts insist on spotting teams huge leads!!!! (42-20 Indy)
it's been the pattern for quite a spell now -- it will catch up to us, probly sooner than later (97-91 indy)

Nice win for the Pacers Smile

Usually Indiana is the one giving up the big leads and having to fight back.

Maybe IT will get a chance to shine in LA -- maybe he & Lonzo will find that elusive chemistry -- LA has played well w/out Ball the last few weeks

at least it solved the IT in town on Paul Pierce Day thing 😉 -- boy have Cav hit skids or what -- we now know what Kevin Love means to their old team, now their new one takes over
it can't be swept under the rug -- their 7-13 slump coincided w/Isaiah's return -- everyone says he's a defnsv liability, but he wasn't last year

Jazz W8 -- Rodney Hood I think will help Cleve, good scorer -- he was expendable w/Utah's guard depth, & Alec Burks & Raul Neto deserve to play a lot, they're both good players as are the starters, Rubio & their rookie, Donovan Mitchell -- Derrick Rose should be behind them

THE TRUTH
15 YEARS -- 2nd only to Jarrin' John, 1 year ahead of the Chief
Paul was never better than when C's went something like 27-2 at the start of I THINK 2008-09 (thought it was year after winning title) -- recall posting here that, didn't wanna keep clogging up the boards w/all my posts, only impossible because of how he/they were playing -- then KG got hurt, etc etc
Those glasses he wears as a TV analyst -- he looks real different -- they almost look like old-fogie glasses 😮

Shaq Said It Well After A 2010 Game In Which Paul Had 42 Points (cut & pasted from wlkpdia)

Take this down", said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the motherfucking truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is The Truth."

Paul Pierce was a great Celtic. It took me a while to warm up to him. Once he matured, he was fun to watch. I liked his compete level, and his trash talking. He was fearless. He might go down as one of the best pure scorers the Celtics have had. I;m glad he's having his day.

Paul was the man.

And yes the Big 3 teams started 29-3 in the championship year and then 27-2 the next year as you mentioned.

Should be a fun day tomorrow.

Excellent read!!
Robert Parish calls Paul "the greatest offensive Celtic ever" -- big ups coming from the Chief
Bottom line, concern in camp, Tor just won big, we've been inconsistent & that's not lost on Paul, the fans/players etc -- but Pierce was some player & all kudos/plaudits/accolades etc today are in order -- Reward The Truth With Four Good Quarters Boys! Grin
