Any memories of Nazareth?
Sitting here listening to the Snaz Album
i think i saw them 3 times on that tour....april wine.....blackfoot and.......hmmmmm.....donnie iris?
still i loved Naz back then and ...hadn't listened to in awhile........funny the things i think of from back in those days

Damnit. When I saw the tread title, I thought this was going to be a Martin Guitar thread. You've done gone and pi$$ed me off. Now you're messin with a son of a bitch! 😉

They had a string of great albums in the 70s and that Greatest Hits album is a knockout.
Lots of member changes over the years and the ship sailed when Manny left. Eventually the live shows were not up to par with the shows of the original lineup. It got to the point where they were playing local fairs for free or a few bucks.
Saw the original lineup many times and always had a great time. Have seen other lineups and it got to bar band level IMO. When McCafferty retired last year, it was definitely time to shut it down but they didn't. His voice is the sound of Nazareth and without him.......
Understand him quitting as the last time I saw them was in a beer tent at a local fair and his voice was shot. Guitarist was mediocre at best. The sound absolutely sucked. Sad to see them reduced to that. Can't even imagine them continuing but they are. Bassist is the only member left.
But those early tunes rock and were great songs to learn for starting guitarists. Simple but kicked ass.
Freaked a buddy out once when I showed him this video. Very early and Dan actually sang as opposed to his pure scream later on.

The outro jam on Changing Time is awesome. That part always gets turned to 11!!
got to the 2:54 mark.
The whole Hair Of The Dog album is excellent.
Maybe fior a Halloween or New Years gig Mule could cover it.
