It's been another bad year including some heavyweights like Jeff Beck, Burt Bacharach and David Crosby. This article lists all of them. One I didn't know about was Motown songwriter Barrett Strong. He had a hit in 1959 with "Money (That's What I Want)" which both The Beatles and The Stones covered. Among the many other hit songs he wrote were Marvin Gaye's "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" and The Temptations' "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone" which earned Strong a Grammy Award.
