the Trane bio is really good, so is the Making of A Love Supreme. I have always wanted to read teh Making of Kind of Blue but haven't gotten around to it.

also I forgot to mention Here, There, and Everywhere by Geoff Emerick, engineer for most Beatles albums.

glad someone mentioned Please Be With Me

The Beatles Recording Sessions: The Official Abbey Road Studio Session Notes, 1962–1970 by Mark Lewisohn is a fun read too. Reminds me that I should dig this out and read it again. Its been many, many years since I last picked it up. Thanks for all the great ideas.

I absolutely love reading music bios. My bookcase is filled with amazing books about the musicians I love. Right now I'm about half-way through Janis, Her Life and Music by Holly George-Warren. Next up will be Best Seat in the House by drummer Jerry Shirley of Humble Pie. Am also a big fan of photography books about musicians and plan to get the new one by Jim Marshall, Show Me the Picture. He really had the feel for capturing moments. And of course, I highly recommend Guitar King (Michael Bloomfield) by good friend, David Dann.
